It is my pleasure to introduce you to Phyl's Academy Preparatory School of Lauderdale Lakes, Florida.

 

Tucked into a beautifully landscaped 7-acre campus, Phyl's provides an educational home for families desiring a quality affordable education. Phyl's has blossomed from a preschool in 1988 to a streamlined educational program accommodating children from 1 year old through 8^th grade. Based on a foundation of trust, respect, and integrity, Phyl's functions on the philosophy that scholarly achievement and character development work symbiotically to develop the whole child. With this shared sense of purpose, our families, faculty, staff, and administration facilitate the perpetuation of talent and good citizenship.

 

Accredited by the Association of Independent Schools of Florida, Phyl's Academy offers the accredited academic courses along with a myriad of special classes focused on technology, literacy, world languages, culture, music, and physical fitness. Technology expands beyond the classroom into our state of the art computer lab and media center. The newly equipped science lab brings opportunity for virtual laboratory work as well as hands-on, experiential learning. A well-stocked media center offers an exciting collection of literature and non-fiction to expose students to classics, art, culture, and contemporary works of primary source material. Students are also instructed in research skills that they carry forward into secondary and post-secondary education. Our world language program teaches students the importance of global communication in a 21^st century world, increasing awareness and appreciation of diverse cultures and the enthusiasm and curiosity to explore places beyond our own community. The well-designed physical education program teaches the immediate and long term benefits of fitness, nutrition, and an overall healthy lifestyle. Students expand opportunities for athletic participation on the playing field in one or more of our after school sports.

 

The Phyl's faculty are trained to meet state standards and the needs of every individual student. Teachers hold degrees of higher learning and participate in continual professional development programs to keep abreast of current research in effective instructional delivery and curriculum enhancements. Teachers recognize the special gifts possessed by each student and provide nurturing and guidance toward the highest level of students' individual potential.
